RCA Victor New Vista stereo system (ca 1969)
This stereo tuner/power amp combination is from an RCA Victor New Vista stereo console of the late '60s. It has all solid-state electronics. The power amplifier is rated at 100 W (50 W/channel). The button-selectable functions are: AM, FM, FM Stereo, PHONO and TAPE. All functions are working and the FM stereo sounds great. The tuner has Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) and an S-meter. I have checked this unit out and have cleaned the controls and pushbutton selectors. Speakers are not included. (0000602)
$50

Case is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Grill cloth is original and is in great shape. Electronically reconditioned radio. Checked all tubes and replaced three with weak emission. Replaced all paper capacitors. Replaced bad speaker. Original back with interlocked AC plug was missing, so installed new polarized AC line cord through rear of chassis with strain relief. Replaced selenium rectifier with 3-amp silicon diode for greater reliability. (Left old selenium in place -- albeit disconnected -- for conversation piece). Did RF alignment, both bands, using sweep generator for FM band. Cleaned band switch. This radio has an RF amplifier for FM band, and thus is very sensitive. Sounds good on both bands.

Hallicrafters S38C (1955)
This 4-band broadcast/shortwave receiver has been lovingly electronically restored. Replaced bad 12SG7 and 12SQ7 with NOS. Replaced all paper and electrolytic capacitors. Replaced broken on-off switch/volume control (new switch is pull-on/push-off type). Replaced AC cord with new polarized type. Cleaned controls and bandswitch. Performed RF alignment. This radio is very sensitive on all four bands (requires external antenna). Has good sound. Cosmetically, lettering on front panel shows wear but, hey, it's a 55-year-old radio. Otherwise, unit looks great. Sorry, no back. Repro back available from the retro folks. Bottom panel intact. (0000599)
$132

The radio has been electronically restored - 2 tubes, caps, lamp replaced. Good sound. Case is in excellent shape. New polarized AC cord added for safety.
